1. Uluslararası Donatılar Resim Yarışması sonuçları açıklandı

Birinci bu muhteşem özgün eseriyle Saya Valentine. Salçalı ekmeğiyle mutluluklar diliyoruz.

İkincilik ödülü de zatıma gidiyor. Çöp adama yeni bi biçim katmışım. Bence de biraz patatese benziyor.

Üçüncülük ise İkeya adlı eseriyle sayın Höskhür Bach'a gidiyor.

"Ömür Boyu Paint Başarı Ödülü" ise gene Saya Valentine'a gidiyor.

Sanırım Saya'yı da artık yılın sanatçısı filan seçebiliriz.

The Exaggeration of Despair

I open the door

(this Indian girl writes that her brother tried to hang himself
with a belt just two weeks after her other brother did hang himself

and this Indian man tells us that, back in boarding school,
five priests took him into a back room and raped him repeatedly

and this homeless Indian woman begs for quarters, and when I ask
her about her tribe, she says she's horny and bends over in front of me

and this homeless Indian man is the uncle of an Indian man
who writes for a large metropolitan newspaper, and so now I know them both

and this Indian child cries when he sits to eat at our table
because he had never known his own family to sit at the same table

and this Indian woman was born to an Indian woman
who sold her for a six-pack and a carton of cigarettes

and this Indian poet shivers beneath the freeway
and begs for enough quarters to buy pencil and paper

and this fancydancer passes out at the powwow
and wakes up naked, with no memory of the evening, all of his regalia gone)

I open the door

(and this is my sister, who waits years for a dead eagle from the Park Service, receives it
and stores it with our cousins, who then tell her it has disappeared

though the feathers reappear in the regalia of another cousin
who is dancing for the very first time

and this is my father, whose own father died on Okinawa, shot
by a Japanese soldier who must have looked so much like him

and this is my father, whose mother died of tuberculosis
not long after he was born, and so my father must hear coughing ghosts

and this is my grandmother who saw, before the white men came,
three ravens with white necks, and knew our God was going to change)

I open the door
and invite the wind inside.

Hayalet Evi

Kimse beni görmüyor.
Sadece burdayım, sadece varım.
Söyleyecek bir şeyim yok.
Sorularım var, çok fazla sorum var;
Cevap alamıyorum.
Kimse düşünmüyor, kimse düşünmüyor.
Çok fazla,
Sorular çok rahatsız edici.

Ve sesimi tekrar kulaklarınızda duyacaksınız.
Kendimi sizden koruma çabamda yok olsam da...
Haykırıyorum dışarıya: benim dünyamda merhamet yok.
Buradan çıkamıyorum: bir hayalet evi.

Kapatın kendinizi,
Çoğalın, durgunlaşın; için, sıçın, tüketin!
Hadi, hiç kimsenin ihtiyaç duymadığı şeyler
Satın alın.
Kendinizi güzel hissedin
10. liposuctiondan sonra.
Her şeyin anlamsız olduğuna
Kendinizi inandırın.

Ve sesimi tekrar kulaklarınızda duyacaksınız.
Kendimi sizden koruma çabamda yok olsam da...
Haykırıyorum dışarıya: benim dünyam merhametsiz.
Buradan çıkamıyorum: bir hayalet evi.

Ne yaparsanız yapın
Sizi rahat bırakmam!

Anarşist manifesto

Hadi tekrar deneyelim:

The Story of Pumpkin

Once upon a time there were two pumps who loved each other so much that they married. Soon they had a lovely little daughter, who they named Pumpkin. Pumpkin was a beautiful and plump girl; she surely was the most attractive piece of fruit in the whole garden. And that’s why one day the farmer came, having heard of Pumpkin’s beauty. He took her away from the field, brought her to his home. There he cut her open and took all her seeds out. Then with a huge knife he carved a smiling face on her. In the hole where once were Pumpkin’s seeds, he placed a candle so that, from that day on Pumpkin shone.

My selection of twitter fiction!

I think it's kinda cool to limit yourself to 140 characters to actually wrtie something that has a shape, setting and characters. It's difficult, it's witty and many different things come out and some are incredibly original while some are incredibly (or relatively) boring. So here are some I like:

She clawed her way up the path, determined to reach the summit. 'Who needs legs?' she thought.

The battle was won and she smiled down at those she trampled. Her victory would be short lived, but it was the journey that mattered.

She danced to the beat of her own drummer, but it was always on table tops at random bars.

And then the meeting entered a stage where it seemed endless. Eternal. And he noticed his watch had stopped so he wound it. Nothing changed.

The storm raged through her mind and suddenly - silence. She knew better. This was just the eye.

Eldon wisely saved his pennies for a rainy day. When the storms came, he made his escape, leaving behind his wife who was afraid of water.

The doctor had told him his anxiety was all in his head. But the cars were zooming past him and he knew he would never cross this boulevard.

Walk away

Walk away Walk away Walk away
From gods who demand thoughtless obedience
Walk away
From pettiness that will make you petty
Walk away
From anger that will eat your insides
Walk away
From abuse which steals your soul
Walk away
Gaining strength with each stride
Walk away
Alone, arm-in-arm or in tandem
Walk away
Yet do not run away in fear
Walk away
You, first among equals
Walk away
Holding head high
Walk away
Now

The Zoo

The Panther

His gaze has, from the passing of the bars,
gotten so tired that it holds nothing more.
To him it is, as if there were a thousand bars
And behind a thousand bars no world.
The soft stride of smooth strong steps,
that spins round in the tiniest circle,
is like a dance of strength around a center,
in which, numbly, a great will stands.
Only sometimes the curtain of the pupil
rises silently. — Then an image enters,
goes through the limbs’ tense silence —
and in the heart ceases to exist.
Rainer Maria Rilke

Someone told me
It's all happening at the zoo.
I do believe it,
I do believe it's true.

It's all about the fucking brand. Just do it.

Meeting With The Moor

ACT I SCENE I. Tallinn, Turkish Embassy.
..............................Enter a Damsell In Distress.

DAMSELL..............Good day, noble sir.
GATE GUARD.......What be thy business?
DAMSELL..............I came here from the far north, through blizzard and ice on a ghast machine to
seek for thy counselling, noble sir
GATE GUARD We have been feasting since noon, and feasting we are still.
Is thy matter urgent?
DAMSELL..............Nay, I only ask for your counselling, whenever thou are willing to give.
GATE GUARD (Pause) Be thou a scholar?
DAMSELL..............Aye, sir, that I be.
GATE GUARD We have been feasting since noon and we are feasting ever since. Come back
when the hour has past two turns from midday. I shall speak to you then.
DAMSELL..............Thank you, good sir, may the good Lord bless thee.

And that's what happened with my meeting at the gate of the Turkish Embassy.

Boys don't cry

Ai was exhausted and enraged. He looked ready to cry, but did not. I believe he considers crying either evil or shameful. Even when he was very ill and weak, the first days of our escape, he hid his face from me when he wept. Reasons personal, racial, social, sexual - how can I guess why Ai must not weep? Yet his name is a cry of pain.

VAJITUS!!!

Wednesday, 25 November 2009

Kendime soru: Buraya gerçekten gitmek istiyor muyum?

Kalevala'dan Saari Adası'nın şımarık bakiresi Kylikki der ki:
Altununuz boşa gider
Paranızı savurmayın
Estonya'ya kim gider?
Adalarda kürek çekmem,
Estonya balığını sevmem,
Sulu çorbasını yemem!
İngri'ye giden kim,
Fakir, çorak bir toprak;
Açlığın olduğu yer,
Çırasız, meşalesiz;
Suyu kıt, arpası kıt,
Buğday ekmeği bulunmaz,
Çavdarı da değersiz.
tahminen yaklaşık 3000 yıl önce Finlilerin tasvir ettiği şekliyle Estonya:

Communications with God

God sifts through the waste of society,
separating the wheat from the chaff,
moving along from one dumpster to the next,
pulling out slabs of salmon steak from one behind a restaurant
and an alluminium cage with a fluff of woodshavings
on the bottom of it from another beside an apartment complex.
Later, he will toss chunks of salmon to a mob of cats
and find, buried beneath the shavings in the cage,
the barely breathing body of a pink and white furry mass.
He will place his finger behind its neck and press softly,
and the mouse will shiver slightly and open its mouth.
Then God will dip honey from a jar with a spoon,
take a dab on his fingertip, and smear it across the mouth
and the long, protruding teeth of the dying mouse.
Then he will take a drop of water on his finger
and put it into the mouth, mixing honey with water.
He will feel the belly of the mouse, and the
lift the body up to his mouth. He will
blow gently into the mouth of the mouse his own breath.
But the mouse no longer stir. God says
that the spirit of the mouse has already left,
though it may yet decide to return,
and that maybe it's for the best,
because the mouse was suffering here in this life.
He returns the body of the mouse to the shavings in the cage,
and tells me that he had a friend once named Mel
who had been in a terrible car accident,
and after much suffering for a long time,
finally died. I say that's sad. He
says no, not really, because his friend was
possibly reborn into another body on the very day
he died, and is better off now, new and fresh, ready
to begin his next life. The next day,
when God comes inside the house to take a bath,
he brings with him a telephone he found that morning.
He says some college kids threw away several of them.
He says you can sell them back to Bell sometimes
if they're still in good condition. As he bathes,
I plug it in and listen to the dead sounds
coming through the line, into the phone God has found.
When God has finished with his bath, he goes back outside
to the garage, where his little black dog is tied,
and begins a low and calm conversation with the dog,
telling him he's going to have to rearrange some things here.
He lights a Gauloise and sets to work in the garage,
moving about junk and propping up an old mattress
he's set in the doorway, in front of his bed on the ground.
For winter's coming on, it's already November, and God
knows even he needs protection from the stiff north wind.
Besides, he knows too there are small aircraft around,
and a certain Cessna that follows him. They're
watching him even now. He knows. He's God.
But it doesn't matter because the process has already begun.
He's been to New Mexico and seen, in Carlsbad Caverns,
bodies that, after many centuries, have arisen from stone there.
The government, of course, is keeping this under wraps.
There's another thing too he's noticed and hets us in on.
The plants have changed in the last week or so,
and the earth has finally regained its soul.
Then he decides to tell us who he is, if we haven't yet guessed,
even though he knows, he says, that because of this
he may lose his temporary shelter inside our garage.
He is who he says he is, he says, and is absolutely
not a paranoid schizophrenic. He knows he
is one with God in The Light Of Creation, and is himself
the light of creation that we see and feel when we
ourselves have come near to God in His blessedness on the earth.
And how will we respond to that? Well,
first we will rub linseed oil into the dry, diseased skin
of our dog, who has lost most of his hair this summer.
And we will do this because God, who loves dogs, has,
in his infinite wisdom and authority, suggested it,
and told us that it would restore to him his natural lustrous coat
and also interfere with the breeding cycle of the fleas
which are now feeding and laying their eggs on him.
We will take this word for it. He's God. He knows.
And we will allow him to remain and to sleep
in our garage for another few days, while this weather holds.
Because, even to God, the world is now cold.
And, if we can understand nothing else he tells us, almost,
we do, at least, know this.

Statement by Chief Smohalla of the Nez Percé Indians

My young men shall never work. Men who work cannot dream & wisdom comes in dreams.
You ask me to plow the ground. Shall I take a knife and tear my mother's breast? Then when I die she will not take me to
her bosom to rest.

You ask me to dig for stone. Shall I dig under her skin for bones? Then when I die I cannot enter her body to be born again.

You ask me to cut grass and make hay a
nd sell it and be rich like white men. But how dare I cut my mother's hair?

It is a bad law and my people cannot obey it. I want my people to stay with me here. All the dead men will come to life again. We must wait here in the house of our fathers and be ready to meet them in the
body of our mother.
